Current Obsession: Pear Dumplings 🍐
If you’re looking for a super simple fall dessert, this is IT.
Crispy on the outside, melt in your mouth goooooood.
There’s a little shop in Hood River, Oregon that we go to in the fall that has these amazing pear dumplings.
Well, when we stopped there in mid-September, they told us that they weren’t serving them yet (apparently it was too early in the season?!).
I was bummed and craving the other day so I decided to try making them…
How hard can it be?
Turns out, not hard at all!
And they’re so I’ve already made them 3 times and I don't plan to stop making them anytime soon!
The best thing is they are so simple and have just a handful of ingredients. (In fact, you could just use the first 2 ingredients & omit the rest and it would still be super delicious!)
🍐 Katie's Baked Pear Dumplings
Ingredients & directions:
ripe Bartlett pear
crescent roll dough
maple syrup
cinnamon
vanilla ice cream
Wrap 1 Bartlett pear in 1 triangle of crescent roll dough.
Drizzle 1 Tbsp of maple on top.
Sprinkle with cinnamon.
Bake at 375ºF for 15 minutes, or until the dough turns golden brown.
Serve with a scoop of ice cream.
🔥 Tip: It's best to use parchment paper or a baking mat like this. If you got maple syrup on the pan, it'll get caramelized and crispy, which is perfect for putting on top of the ice cream! (see the picture)
Note: I don't core it first because pear cores are so small and I just eat around it but you could take it out first.
It's seriously so good! Let me know if you make them!
