Screen-free & obsessed 👀

Want to know something kind of crazy?

We haven’t used our daughter’s tablet in over 9 months.

In that time, we've gone on several airplanes and have been on the road for hundreds of hours of road-tripping. (not exaggerating)

It all started with a month-long road trip in our campervan where I said, “I wonder how long we could go without it?”

Ever since, we’ve been testing all sorts of screen-free toys on a mission to find our favorites.

In fact, I just published a video rating all the screen-free toys we took on our most recent trip, and curated a list of our favorite screen-free travel toys 👇🏼

New favorite toy??!

When I recently saw this new “screen-free tablet” on Instagram, I was so intrigued. Let me tell you, the Boppo is pretty unique.

To be clear: I’m not anti-screen, but it is always nice having alternatives so we don’t have to rely on a tablet.

👉🏼 What exactly is the Boppo?

It is a screen-free “tablet” with 10 light-up buttons, sounds, and tactile play with 40+ free educational games, music, stories, and podcasts for ages 1 to 12+. (No subscription required.)

Our 4-year-old loves it. (Naturally)

But, surprisingly, our 1-year-old is also really into it too.

And I’ve gotta say, there are some games (like one that’s similar to “whack a mole”) that are pretty fun for bigger kids adults too 😉

The only issue we’re having is that we only have ONE and they both seem to love it. We may just need to get another eventually?

I will say that it is a bit of a splurge, but I think it's one of those things (like our beloved Yoto Mini) that will be useful in so many situations and grow with our girls.

If you think it would be fun for your family, I have a discount code for you 👇🏼

Personal note from me: I'll be honest, AI is one of those things I have very mixed feeling about.

I genuinely think there are some very big concerns when it comes to regulation and I think there are so many parts of life where it is 1000% unnecessary.

BUT, I also feel like there are some things it can be really useful for:

  • organize your meal prep & grocery list for the week (one of my favorite uses)
  • comparing campgrounds with availability & specific amenities within 2 hours of your home (I just used it for this today!)
  • catching grammar mistakes in an email (thank you Grammarly!)

The thing is, AI is not going anywhere. And if you are a business owner (like us), there are ways AI can help so you can focus on the parts of your business you actually love.

Confession: I fall into the camp of being resistant to AI in general, but also curious about how it can help me stay organized, take mundane tasks off my plate, and make sure things don't slip through the cracks (like important client emails!).

If you can relate, you may want to join the FREE Superhuman newsletter (linked below). By joining the newsletter, you'll get bite-sized lessons on how you can use AI to elevate your business, so you can focus on bringing your HUMANNESS to the parts of it that you love.

It's a win-win, in my opinion.

Here's where you can sign up to receive their free newsletter 👇🏼

Fun Fact: Superhuman is actually the company behind Grammarly (Ben's favorite free plug-in!), and they have all sorts of other tools. I'm currently looking into their inbox manager because this is how I feel when I open my email each day... 🫠😩🫣
