Whew, after a very long travel day night... (I don't even know what time it is right now!)... we juuust arrived in Oslo! I truly can’t wait to fill you in on everything and share what we get up to.
We've heard really mixed things about Oslo. Some people have said it's one of their favorite cities, while we've also received messages from people who seriously disliked it.
I'll be honest and tell you we aren't big "city people". (If you've been here for a while you probably already know that!) Our favorite places on our travels are almost always small towns and places in nature.
But after doing quite a bit of research, I'm actually really excited for what we have planned in Oslo during the short 48 hours we'll be here.
In fact, I kind of wish we had devoted another day because I have at least a full day's worth of things we won't get to do on this trip. I guess that just means we have to come back eventually, right?
If you want to see our travels in (almost!) real time, be sure to follow us on Instagram for stories and longer-form videos.
New on TWS
This is slightly embarrassing, but we only juuuust got around to publishing this video from our Japan trip last fall 🫣
We stayed at some seriously cool places:
the dreamiest onsen hotel in the middle of a national park (with an onsite waterfall!)
"glamping" with views of Mount Fuji
A-frame cabin in the woods in a mountain town
traditional Japanese home in the countryside that is centuries old with the sweetest host
GIGANTIC (for Tokyo!) apart-hotel
Come with as we give you a tour of these places!
Spoiler alert: They are all pretty affordable (some more than others) for Japan.
We did a ton of research and chose places that weren't crazy expensive, but were experiences in themselves. Hopefully this will give you some ideas of places to stay on your own Japan trip!
Today is the last day of REI's Labor Day Sale! If you want to get outdoors more and have been eyeing some gear, now is a great time to snag it (because this is one of their best sales of the year!).
