โœˆ๏ธ yes, cheap flights still exist (receipts inside)

This past weekend I asked Ben for one thing for Mother's Day: nothing.

And he delivered. We packed up the girls, headed to the park, and spent the entire day on blankets in the grass.

I walked to our local bookstore that morning and picked up a book, and somehow got actual uninterrupted reading time in a hammock. We had a picnic. It was everything I wanted.

WHAT I'M READING...

๐Ÿ“š Speaking of reading... The book I picked up is called Yesteryear, and when I posted about it on IG I was flooded with messages. It seems people either loved it or hated it.

I'm enjoying it so far, though I'm still early. And honestly, holding a physical book after years of really only reading on Kindle or audiobooks feels like a treat in itself.

10/10 Mother's Day.

โœˆ๏ธ ๐Ÿค‘ Here's how you can find flights under $500 this summer... ๐Ÿ‘€ (+ $20 off!)

Sponsored by Thrifty Traveler

With gas prices climbing, it feels like everything travel-related is getting more expensive. And yet... we keep finding flight deals that make us do a double-take.

International flights. Domestic routes. Points and cash options. The deals are out there. Here are some recent ones that crossed our radar:

Yes, really. Flights under $500. Right now.

And even better deals show up when using points and miles ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ

These screenshots are just a sampling of what has come into my inbox in the last 2 weeks!

We've been subscribers to Thrifty Traveler Premium for over 8 years.

In that time, it has genuinely saved us thousands of dollars. We actually haven't paid full price for a flight in 3 years.

Here's how it works: Thrifty Traveler's team monitors flight prices constantly and sends alerts when they find a deal worth your attention. There's a free version, which is a solid starting point.

But the paid version is what we use, and it's worth it for 2 reasons ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ

  1. You get deals the moment they're found. Free subscribers get them 24 hours later. With the best deals, 24 hours is often too late.
  2. The best deals are paid-only. A lot of the "unicorn" fares, the ones that make you go wait, that's real?, never make it to the free tier.

We're still figuring out our own summer plans (more on that soon), but Thrifty is always open in the background helping us think through options.

โญ๏ธ My personal advice...

One thing I'll say if you're really trying to find cheap flights: sometimes the best move is to chase the deal, not the destination.

And this is really where Thrifty Traveler comes in handy because you don't have to search aimlessly. For example, if a great fare drops into a hub city in Europe, book it. You can take trains from there to get wherever you want to go.

Right now, you'll save $20 off the first year of Thrifty Traveler Premium when you use our link to sign up.

TLDR: If saving money on flights is a priority this summer, I genuinely recommend checking this out. It has paid for itself many times over for us.

WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO

๐Ÿ˜ฒ You won't believe the inside of this Luxurious PNW Yurt

We just published a full video tour of our stay at the most magical yurt near the Columbia River Gorge. If you love unique stays, this one is worth watching. I can't oversell it. It was genuinely special.

๐Ÿฆ€ Back to the Oregon Coast (again!)

Yes, we were just there ๐Ÿ˜… But we're going back in a couple of days, and I'm already so excited. We've been to the Oregon Coast more times than we can count and I never get tired of it.

The Oregon Coast is massive, and every time we visit we find something new. This time, we're headed to Newport and Lincoln City! Can't wait to share more about this trip soon.
